When considering pricing, I like to look at the work concerned, to establish what needs to be done. One document might only need some minor revision to be perfect, while another could require considerable restructuring to bring out the message it is trying to convey. Naturally one will cost more than the other to proofread, edit, or write to a satisfactory standard.

For proofreading and copy-editing, my rate will be agreed with you prior to any work being undertaken, and I will provide a fixed, written quote for your peace of mind. This will be based on one or more of the following:

• Hourly rate
• Page rate
• Rate per 1,000 words
• Fixed charge

A minimum fee will apply for small editing jobs (for example: single page copy-editing, blog post proofreading, cover letters and similar items).

Copywriting attracts a different fee structure. This will depend on the subject, length of item and quality of source material. Research and idea development attract additional charges, which vary according to topic and the amount of time required to complete the task. Again, a written quote will be provided prior to work commencing.

My preferred medium is Microsoft Word, and I edit and proofread using the Word ‘Track Changes’ function so that you can see all amendments made, and why, and review any additional queries I’ve made. Additional charges may apply for work undertaken in hard copy, PDF, or other formats.
